The Year of the Promise Pt. 3

Hi sis!

Welcome back!

The last blog we left off with me transfering to a new office after returning from my honeymoon. Things were going fairly well, and 3 months later I found out I was pregnant!

I will write a separate blog about my pregnancy journey!

I tried to hide my pregnancy as long as I could ( to be in the safe zone) until I started getting really sick and could longer commute to my job that was an hour away.

In the following months, I worked remotely, visiting the office perhaps once every couple of months. This was truly the Lord's doing, as without being transferred to work with this doctor, I definitely wouldn't have had the opportunity to work from home. Being part of this private office provided me with the flexibility I needed during my pregnancy. The Lord!

Once I discovered I was expecting a girl, everything started happening rapidly! But that seems to be a recurring theme in my life, doesn't it? Engaged, married, and now pregnant with my baby girl all within a year of meeting my husband! Truly, the Year of the Promise!

I would have never ever thought of all that God would do in that time, but he is God? So that leads me to this question, are we limiting God based on our circumstance or what seems impossible? I am reminded of the story in the bible where there was a little boy that had a spirit and Jesus said, oh faithless generation. Anything is possible to them that believe. But here is the most important part, when the disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast him out, Jesus replied, "This kind can be cast out only by prayer and fasting". So my next question is, are you praying? are you fasting? Are you apart of a faithless generation? Are you just waiting on Jesus?

May I encourage you to go to his throne. Spend time him; submit your flesh, your desires, your needs to him through prayer and fasting because it really does changes things. I am a witness! Through all the up and downs, public humilation, the loniness, the seperation, I remain stedfast in my prayer. Thats the secret. I casted my cares unto the Lord every chance I got. Everyday. Despite what was happening around me, I was more focused on what was happening inwardly. Not doing it for a husband, a child but for my soul. I wanted to be right. I could not allow anger to overtake me or bitterness to control me where I start responding emotionally.

Sis, we all have been there, where we feel stuck. I remember after years, I had a hard conversation with my mom, How could this happen to me? What did I do wrong? Or If what I did was that bad to be punished as this? I understand! I know decisions we make can last a seasons. But how long will I suffer? A season is only 3 months and it has been years! Sis I was there! Felt like winter for years. Dry. Still pray! Still fast! Have control over the enemy! He will not control your mind. Your emotions. Your feelings. Your desires. Until God moves, you keep moving. I am living proof that the promises of God are yes and Amen.

The Year of the RE! That was the theme for 2023. To be REvived. REstored, REnewed. But I could not prayed of what the Lord did. Once I surrendered to his will. The Year of his Promise!

Love you with purpose,

Joi
